One of the most anticipated unveilings at Auto China is BYD’s electric pickup, the BYD Shark. After surpassing Tesla as the world’s top EV seller in the fourth quarter of last year, BYD continues to dominate the domestic market.
CATL, the global leader in EV batteries, showcased its latest innovation at the event: the “Shenxing Plus” battery pack, promising ultra-fast charging to address one of the main concerns of EV drivers.
XPeng, a key competitor to Tesla, announced plans to integrate AI-assisted driving into its vehicles starting in May. This technology aims to enhance safety by learning and imitating the driver’s habits.
Japanese automaker Toyota also made waves by partnering with Chinese tech giant Tencent to develop AI features for its vehicles, catering to the growing demand for advanced smart car technologies among Chinese consumers.
