The proposed transit system will span approximately 31.5 kilometers, connecting Gakhar to Eminabad. It will include a total of 24 stations, with two planned as underground stations to ensure smooth traffic flow in densely populated areas. A notable highlight of the project is the in-principle approval of a 17 to 19-kilometer underground track section, which will significantly reduce surface congestion.
To further enhance accessibility, feeder bus services will be introduced to connect various neighborhoods of Gujranwala to the metro train network. This integrated approach aims to ensure that residents from all parts of the city can benefit from the system.
Sustainable and Smart Infrastructure
The Gujranwala Mass Transit System is being designed with sustainability in mind.
