JAECOO has officially brought its J5 Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) to Pakistan, introducing a new electric crossover with an introductory starting price of Rs. 5.99 million. The vehicle is available in Comfort and Premium variants, with bookings opening ahead of customer deliveries scheduled for January 2027.
The November 6 launch confirms the commercial arrival of a model that was previously showcased in Pakistan. Its locally assembled status, two-variant lineup and electric powertrain make it a new option for buyers considering a switch to an electric SUV.
Here is a closer look at its pricing, performance, technology and ownership details.
Two Variants, Two Different Price Points
JAECOO has positioned the J5 BEV in two configurations to target buyers with different budgets.
- JAECOO J5 BEV Comfort: Rs. 5,999,000
- JAECOO J5 BEV Premium: Rs. 6,699,000
The Comfort requires an initial booking payment of Rs. 1.2 million, while customers booking the Premium need to pay Rs. 1.5 million.
The company has announced that deliveries will begin at the start of January 2027. These introductory prices are valid until November 30, 2026, so buyers interested in the launch offer should confirm availability and booking conditions with an authorised dealership.
A 208 hp Electric Powertrain
The J5 BEV Premium features a front-wheel-drive electric motor producing 155 kW, or 208 hp, alongside 288 Nm of torque.
JAECOO claims a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 7.7 seconds. Drivers can also select from three driving settings depending on their requirements:
- Eco for efficiency-focused driving
- Normal for balanced everyday performance
- Sport for a more responsive driving experience
This power output gives the electric crossover a useful performance specification for urban journeys and longer trips.
How Far Can It Travel on One Charge?
The Premium variant uses a 49.5 kWh battery. Its official range estimates vary according to the testing cycle:
- 405 km: NEDC
- 344 km: WLTP
- Approximately 295 km: EPA
These figures should not be treated as guaranteed real-world distances. Driving speed, road conditions, temperature, air-conditioning use and passenger load can all affect battery consumption.
Charging is supported through both AC and DC systems. The vehicle accepts up to 11 kW AC charging and up to 130 kW DC fast charging. It also offers 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing compatible external devices to draw power from the vehicle.
Designed for Everyday Use
The J5 BEV has a length of 4,382 mm, a width of 1,860 mm and a height of 1,650 mm. Its 2,620 mm wheelbase and approximately 184 mm ground clearance give buyers a clearer idea of its overall proportions.
Practicality is supported by a 480-litre luggage compartment, while 18-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior specification.
JAECOO is offering five exterior colour choices in Pakistan:
- Khaki White
- Carbon Crystal Black
- Eucalyptus Green
- Glacier Blue
- Elegant Gray
A Technology-Focused Cabin
Inside, the Premium version features a 13.2-inch infotainment screen alongside an 8-inch LCD instrument display. The cabin also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity and T-Box connectivity.
Other technology and convenience highlights include:
- Eight-speaker audio system
- 50W wireless phone charging
- Front and rear USB ports
- Type-C fast charging
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- Keyless entry
- Panoramic moonroof
- Powered driver and passenger seats
The driver’s seat offers six-way powered adjustment, while the front passenger seat provides four-way powered adjustment. All four windows are electric and feature anti-pinch protection.
Driver Assistance Features and Passenger Protection
The J5 BEV Premium comes with six airbags, covering the front, side and curtain positions. Its active safety and driver-assistance equipment includes several systems designed to support drivers in different traffic situations.
These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Avoidance Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention and Emergency Lane Keeping.
The vehicle also features Front Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Door Open Warning.
For parking assistance, JAECOO has included front and rear parking sensors with a 540-degree HD panoramic imaging system. Tyre-pressure monitoring, an electronic parking brake and Auto Hold are also part of the listed equipment.
Warranty and Long-Term Ownership
Battery warranty is an important consideration when purchasing an electric vehicle. JAECOO has announced six years or 150,000 km of vehicle warranty coverage, whichever comes first.

The high-voltage battery receives a separate warranty of eight years or 160,000 km, also on a whichever-comes-first basis.
This coverage gives prospective buyers an important ownership detail to consider alongside the vehicle’s price, range and charging capabilities. They should review the official warranty document for applicable conditions and exclusions.
How Does the J5 BEV Compare on Price?
The JAECOO J5 BEV enters a market that already includes electric options such as the BYD Atto 2 and MG4 EV Urban.
Based on the supplied listed prices, the BYD Atto 2 costs Rs. 7,290,000, while the MG4 EV Urban is priced at Rs. 6,949,000. Against these figures, the J5 BEV Comfort starts at a lower price of Rs. 5,999,000. Even the Premium variant, at Rs. 6,699,000, is priced below both alternatives.
However, buyers should look beyond the initial price when comparing electric vehicles. Battery range, charging availability, after-sales service, warranty coverage and resale value are all important parts of the ownership decision.
Is the JAECOO J5 BEV Worth Considering?
The J5 BEV brings a competitive starting price, two variant choices and a well-equipped Premium specification to Pakistan’s electric crossover market. Its 208 hp motor, 49.5 kWh battery, DC fast-charging capability and extensive driver-assistance equipment make it an interesting new arrival.
The Comfort variant provides a lower entry price, while the Premium offers a more comprehensive package for buyers who want additional technology and convenience features.
With deliveries expected in January 2027, the next important step will be seeing how the vehicle performs in local driving conditions. Real-world range, charging access, dealership support and parts availability will ultimately shape its position among Pakistan’s electric vehicle options.
The introductory price starts at Rs. 5,999,000 for the Comfort variant.
The Premium variant is listed at Rs. 6,699,000.
The Premium variant comes with a 49.5 kWh battery.
Customer deliveries are scheduled to start in January 2027.
