KIA Pakistan Announces Significant Price Hike Across Multiple Models Effective 1st July 2025

KIA Lucky Motors Corporation (LMC) has officially announced a significant increase in the ex-factory prices of several of its popular models, effective from July 1, 2025. The price adjustment, revealed through an official circular, comes in response to mounting economic pressures impacting the automotive sector in Pakistan.

Why the Price Hike?

According to KIA, the decision to increase prices was driven by multiple factors, including the recently imposed NEV Levy introduced in the Federal Budget 2025-26, the continued depreciation of the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar, and a notable surge in international freight costs. Despite the company’s efforts to absorb these additional burdens over recent months, the cumulative impact has left LMC with no choice but to revise prices.

Revised Prices for Popular Models

The updated price list shows varying increases depending on the model and variant, ranging from PKR 95,000 to PKR 700,000. Below are some of the key changes:

  • Picanto AT: Increased by PKR 150,000 — now priced at PKR 4,090,000.
  • Stonic EX+: Increased by PKR 499,000 — new price PKR 5,999,000.
  • Stonic EX: Now PKR 4,862,000 after a PKR 95,000 hike.
  • Sportage L Alpha: New price PKR 8,899,000 — up by PKR 400,000.
  • Sportage L FWD: Raised by PKR 500,000 — now PKR 10,499,000.
  • Sportage L HEV: Now PKR 11,599,000, a rise of PKR 600,000.
  • Sorento 3.5L V6: Increased by PKR 400,000 — new price PKR 13,899,000.
  • Sorento HEV AWD: The biggest hike of PKR 700,000 — now PKR 16,699,000.
  • Carnival: Also sees a PKR 700,000 increase — new price PKR 18,200,000.
  • EV5 Air & EV5 Earth: Prices remain unchanged at PKR 18,500,000 and PKR 23,500,000 respectively.
  • Top-tier Model: Continues to be priced at PKR 43,200,000.

Additional Terms

LMC clarified that the revised prices are ex-factory only and do not include freight and insurance costs. Furthermore, any new government duties or fluctuations in currency rates will be transferred to the customer, adding a layer of unpredictability for potential buyers.

All vehicles invoiced on or after July 1, 2025, will adhere to the new price structure.

Commitment to Quality

Despite the price surge, KIA reiterated its commitment to providing high-quality vehicles at competitive prices while appreciating the trust and support of its loyal customer base during these challenging economic times.

Final Thoughts

With Pakistan’s auto industry already under pressure from volatile exchange rates, high inflation, and new taxes, KIA’s move reflects an industry-wide challenge that may see other automakers following suit in the near future. Customers planning to purchase a KIA vehicle are advised to factor in the new prices and any possible future adjustments due to economic conditions.

In response to the Federal Budget 2025–26, which raised the sales tax from 12.5% to 18% and introduced a new NEV Levy, Pak Suzuki has increased the prices of its entire vehicle lineup effective July 1, 2025. Popular models like the Alto, Cultus, Swift, and Ravi have seen significant price hikes, adding further burden on buyers already facing economic pressures. This move may dampen demand, especially among first-time car owners and small businesses, unless future relief measures are introduced.
