Audi unveils high performance hybrid supercar with nearly 1000 horsepower

Audi has introduced a new high performance supercar that combines a powerful petrol engine with advanced electric motor technology. The limited production model becomes the strongest road car ever created by the company and signals Audi’s growing focus on hybrid performance systems.

The new flagship blends traditional sports car engineering with modern electrification. Instead of relying on a massive engine alone, Audi uses multiple electric motors to increase power, improve handling, and support all wheel drive performance.

Hybrid system delivers extreme power

At the center of the supercar is a twin turbocharged V8 engine paired with three electric motors. Together, the system produces close to 1000 horsepower, placing the vehicle among the most powerful production cars in Audi’s history.

The electric motors support acceleration, torque distribution, and overall efficiency. Two motors operate at the front axle while another works alongside the transmission and engine setup.

Audi also uses a plug in hybrid battery system that can recharge through external charging and regenerative braking.

Key highlights include:

  • Nearly 1000 horsepower combined output
  • Hybrid powertrain with three electric motors
  • Plug in charging capability
  • Advanced all wheel drive system
  • High performance dual clutch transmission

The setup allows the car to deliver both strong acceleration and improved traction during high speed driving.

Smaller motors with advanced technology

One of the major technical highlights is the use of axial flux electric motors. These motors are lighter and more compact than traditional electric motors while still producing strong performance.

Because of their smaller size, engineers can place them more efficiently within the vehicle without increasing overall weight significantly.

This approach helps maintain the balance and agility expected from a modern supercar.

Design inspired by motorsport heritage

The supercar also pays tribute to Audi’s racing history. The model name references legendary racing driver Tazio Nuvolari, who competed using Auto Union race cars before the modern Audi brand existed.

The vehicle is not intended to directly replace previous Audi supercars. Instead, it serves as a limited production flagship designed to showcase technology and engineering capability.

Limited production and premium pricing

Audi plans to build the model in very limited numbers. Production will remain exclusive, targeting collectors and high performance car enthusiasts.

The expected starting price places the supercar in the ultra luxury category alongside other high end performance vehicles from Europe.

The launch highlights how hybrid technology is becoming increasingly important in the supercar segment. Manufacturers now use electrification not only for efficiency but also to improve acceleration, handling, and power delivery.

As performance cars continue evolving, advanced hybrid systems are becoming a central part of next generation automotive engineering.
