By Genesis has officially introduced the GV90 as its flagship electric SUV, combining a large 123.5 kWh battery, dual-motor all-wheel drive and an interior designed around first-class comfort.
The GV90 uses Genesis’ dedicated eMP electric platform and offers a claimed range of up to 310 miles. Its 350 kW fast-charging system can take the battery from 10% to 80% in around 22 minutes. Genesis has not yet confirmed the range through an official government testing agency.
Strong electric performance
The GV90 uses dual electric motors and produces a combined 657 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Both axles feature electronically controlled limited-slip differentials. This setup allows the SUV to distribute torque across all four wheels without using four separate motors.
Genesis has also equipped the GV90 with multi-chamber air suspension and monotube dual-valve shocks. Rear-wheel steering helps improve manoeuvrability, while four-piston brakes provide stopping power.
The battery pack also features advanced thermal safety technology. A cloud-based Battery Management System monitors the battery in real time and looks for potential problems. Thermal Runaway Protection helps limit heat transfer between individual cells.
A cabin designed like a luxury lounge
The interior is where the GV90 makes its biggest impression. Genesis has used soft surfaces, quilted leather and rounded design elements throughout the cabin.
A huge 23.6-inch OLED display dominates the dashboard. When the vehicle is parked, the screen can rise another 3.5 inches, creating a 24.6-inch display. A 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D surround sound system adds to the premium experience.
The cabin can also transform into a private entertainment space. With its large screen and high-end audio system, the GV90 offers an experience closer to a luxury lounge than a conventional SUV.
GV90 Neolun takes luxury even further
Genesis will also offer the GV90 Neolun, which focuses on even greater exclusivity. Its coach-style doors open without a conventional B-pillar between the front and rear doors.
Genesis says the body structure uses a frame that is 1.5 times thicker than conventional vehicles. The company has also developed a roof-mounted airbag to improve occupant protection in the event of a rollover.
The Neolun can be configured with an Executive Suite layout that seats four people. The front seats can rotate towards the rear, allowing passengers to face one another while the vehicle is parked.
The second row features heated wood flooring and heated armrests. A comfort partition separates the passenger area from the luggage compartment, creating a more private cabin.

The standard seven-seat GV90 is expected to deliver around 310 miles of driving range. However, Genesis has yet to confirm the figure through an official testing authority.
Genesis aims for the premium electric SUV market
The GV90 represents Genesis’ move into a higher level of luxury. Its combination of long-range electric power, advanced chassis technology and an exceptionally spacious cabin puts it in competition with high-end electric SUVs.
The Neolun version takes that approach even further with coach doors and a four-seat lounge-style interior. Genesis has clearly designed the model to challenge established luxury brands rather than simply offer another large electric SUV.
With its large battery, fast charging and highly luxurious cabin, the GV90 could become one of Genesis’ most important electric models. Pricing and wider market availability will determine how successfully it competes with established premium EVs.
