Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has stated that global crude oil prices are trending downward as diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States move toward a ceasefire agreement. The development is being closely monitored by Pakistani authorities, who are assessing its impact on domestic fuel prices.
In a statement shared on his social media account, the minister highlighted that the efforts of the Prime Minister, the Field Marshal, the Foreign Minister, and the Interior Minister have contributed positively to regional stability. He added that the Prime Minister has directed relevant authorities to ensure that any benefit resulting from lower international oil prices is transferred to the public without delay.
Government Working on Transparent Fuel Pricing Formula
Ali Pervaiz Malik also announced the formation of a high-level committee tasked with developing a transparent weekly petroleum pricing formula. The initiative aims to provide greater clarity regarding how fuel prices are determined and why they fluctuate over time.
According to the minister, the proposed pricing mechanism will be developed after extensive consultations with all relevant stakeholders, including industry experts and government institutions. The objective is to improve public confidence and ensure transparency in future fuel price revisions.
The minister further thanked industry partners and the public for their cooperation in maintaining a stable oil supply chain during recent regional challenges. He emphasized that Pakistan’s energy sector remained resilient despite uncertainties in the international market.

With international oil prices now moving lower, consumers are anticipating a more substantial cut in the upcoming petroleum price review.
