Earlier this month, Eco-Green Motors, a subsidiary of Dewan Motors, made headlines by announcing the local production of its electric vehicle (EV), the Honri Ve. Following this achievement, the company introduced an upgraded variant, the Honri Ve 3.0, in June 2024, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s EV market.
Eco-Green Motors has received a manufacturing certificate from the Engineering Development Board (EDB) to assemble the Honri Ve 2.0 and Honri Ve 3.0 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) at their Sajawal factory. This certification is the first of its kind in Pakistan, allowing for local assembly of EVs. The first locally assembled unit rolled off the assembly line earlier this month, a momentous occasion celebrated by company officials and workers. This development is expected to open doors for other companies to obtain licenses, furthering the growth of local EV production in Pakistan. This will also have a positive impact on EV prices and availability, making them more accessible to the local market.
The Honri Ve 3.0 stands out with a Ternary Lithium Battery and Permanent Synchronous Motor that delivers a maximum power of 35 kW and 87 Nm of torque, ensuring a smooth driving experience. The EV can reach a top speed of 100 km/h, making it an ideal choice for city driving. With a 29.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, the car offers impressive durability and a range of up to 300 km per charge. Charging from empty to full takes approximately seven hours using a regular household outlet, thanks to the 220V AC charging gun included with the vehicle.
The Honri Ve 3.0 boasts a sleek design, equipped with disc brakes in the front, drum brakes in the rear, 155/65/R15 tyres, and alloy rims. Its stylish exterior includes a rear spoiler, halogen height-adjustable front headlamps, dual-tone side-view mirrors with indicators, and a chrome and black front grille with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).
Inside, the car is loaded with modern amenities, offering comfort and convenience. Key features include:
The local assembly of the Honri Ve 3.0 marks a turning point in the evolution of Pakistan’s EV industry. With local production ramping up, the cost of EVs is expected to decrease, making them more affordable for consumers. The availability of such advanced electric vehicles will not only encourage more people to adopt EVs but also help reduce environmental impact and fuel dependency in the country.
The launch of the Honri Ve 3.0 is a crucial step forward, paving the way for more local and international manufacturers to invest in Pakistan’s growing EV sector. As this trend continues, it will contribute to the modernization and digitalization of the country’s automotive industry.
The Honri Ve 3.0 is set to become a popular choice for eco-conscious drivers in Pakistan, combining performance, convenience, and sustainability in one stylish package.
