Chrysler may be working on a new midsize SUV design

A new Chrysler SUV design may have been revealed unintentionally in a recent Stellantis promotional video, giving the first possible look at an upcoming crossover model. The vehicle appears briefly in a lineup of multiple brands, suggesting it could be part of Chrysler’s future product expansion.

The brand currently has a limited model range, but Stellantis has already confirmed plans to introduce new vehicles under the Chrysler nameplate. These include compact crossovers as well as a larger SUV positioned as part of the brand’s future lineup.

First glimpse of a new design direction

The vehicle shown in the video features a design language that matches Chrysler’s latest styling direction. It appears to carry vertical LED lighting elements at the front, along with a signature illuminated grille design.

The front end looks more upright and SUV focused compared to previous Chrysler models. This suggests a shift toward a more traditional crossover shape instead of a streamlined concept design.

At the rear, the vehicle appears to include vertical taillights and a roof mounted spoiler. These elements give it a more practical SUV appearance rather than a futuristic concept look.

Shared design elements with other Stellantis models

Some design cues on the vehicle resemble other models within the Stellantis group. Certain details, such as the door handle placement and side profile proportions, look similar to existing Jeep models.

This is not unusual, as manufacturers often share platforms and components across brands to reduce production costs and speed up development.

The possible powertrain options also appear to align with engines already used in other Stellantis vehicles. These may include a small turbocharged petrol engine and possibly a more powerful four cylinder option in higher trims.

What this could mean for Chrysler

Chrysler currently has a very limited lineup, with the Pacifica minivan being one of its main offerings. The introduction of a new SUV would significantly expand its presence in the growing crossover market.

SUV demand continues to dominate global automotive sales, especially in North America. A new model in this category would help Chrysler remain competitive as consumer preferences shift away from sedans.

However, success will depend not only on design but also on pricing, performance, and technology offerings compared to strong competitors in the segment.

Since the vehicle has not been officially confirmed, most details remain speculative. Specifications, final design elements, and official naming have not been released.

Stellantis is expected to reveal more information once the model moves closer to production. For now, the video provides only a preview of what Chrysler’s next phase of products could look like.

If this design does reach production, it will mark an important step in Chrysler’s effort to rebuild its global SUV lineup and strengthen its position in a highly competitive market.
