Federal Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi stated that the Awam Express is undergoing a complete overhaul and will be reintroduced with enhanced facilities before the Eid holidays. The initiative is aimed at providing travelers with a more comfortable, efficient, and safer travel experience during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
According to the minister, the revamped train service will be formally inaugurated on May 24. He said the upgraded Awam Express will feature improved travel standards and reduced journey times, especially for passengers traveling to Karachi and other major destinations across the country.
Faster and More Comfortable Travel Experience
Speaking about the project, Hanif Abbasi emphasized that the government is committed to transforming Pakistan’s railway network into a modern and passenger-friendly transport system. He noted that the revamped Awam Express is designed to offer improved onboard comfort, enhanced cleanliness, and better operational efficiency.
The minister also highlighted that travel time on several routes would be reduced, allowing passengers to reach destinations more quickly than before.
