The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued an official clarification regarding recent maintenance activity at the Tayyib Erdogan Interchange in Islamabad’s F-8 sector, confirming that the work was part of a scheduled routine maintenance program and not due to any structural fault or emergency.

In a public statement released on May 19, 2025, the CDA emphasized that the maintenance was pre-planned under its long-term infrastructure management strategy. The initiative was aimed at enhancing the durability, safety, and functionality of one of Islamabad’s key transport links. According to officials, the activity was completed efficiently, and full access to the interchange was restored by Sunday evening, minimizing inconvenience for daily commuters.

Tayyib Erdogan Interchange Remains Fully Operational

Amid circulating concerns on social media, the CDA reassured residents and motorists that the Tayyib Erdogan Interchange is structurally sound and fully operational. The maintenance effort was preventive, carried out as part of the CDA’s proactive quality control protocols, and not triggered by any unexpected damage or malfunction.

Routine Maintenance to Ensure Long-Term Infrastructure Resilience

The CDA underscored the importance of regular inspections and timely maintenance in preserving Islamabad’s public infrastructure. Officials noted that these efforts are part of a forward-looking urban development strategy, focused on reducing future repair costs, extending the lifespan of critical assets, and ensuring commuter safety.

The authority further highlighted that its infrastructure maintenance activities are aligned with international standards, reflecting a commitment to transparency, efficiency, and public trust. Facilities like the Tayyib Erdogan Interchange undergo routine assessments to ensure they meet the growing needs of the city and its residents.

CDA’s Commitment to Public Service and Urban Development

The Capital Development Authority reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining essential infrastructure through continuous improvement, smart planning, and responsive public service. Residents are encouraged to stay updated through official CDA channels for accurate information and updates on upcoming maintenance or development projects.
