To ensure smooth traffic flow during the Youm-e-Ali procession on the 13th of Rajab, Karachi’s traffic authorities have introduced a detailed traffic management plan. The procession, commemorating the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali (R.A), will begin at 4 pm and will involve significant road closures and diversions in key areas of the city.

Key Road Closures

  • MA Jinnah Road: Closed from Tibet Centre to Guru Mandir, including adjacent streets.
  • Shahrah-e-Qaideen: Blocked from the Khudadad signal; however, the bridge connecting Khudadad to Saddar will remain operational.

Alternative Routes and Traffic Diversions

Traffic authorities have outlined alternative routes to facilitate commuters during the procession:

  1. Motorists traveling on Bahadur Yar Jang Road towards Tower:
    • Use Soldier Bazar No. 1 Signal, Coast Guard, and Anklesaria Hospital Signal.
  2. Travelers from Shahrah-e-Qaideen towards Naumaish Chowrangi or MA Jinnah Road:
    • Take diversions via Ayesha Aziz Chowrangi to PP Chowrangi.
  3. Commuters coming from Society Light Signal:
    • Follow the Khudadad Colony Bridge to Empress Market route.
  4. Travelers from Fresco towards Naumaish Chowrangi:
    • Opt for the Eidgah Chowk route through Jubilee and Nishtar Road or the Tibet Centre to Regal Chowk route.
  5. Vehicles moving from Fawara Chowk to Garden Nishtar Road:
    • Proceed via Abdullah Haroon Road.
  6. Drivers at Paradise Signal:
    • Go left towards the Passport Office or right to Empress Market.
  7. Travelers from Garden Baghicha to Aga Khan III Road:
    • Take the Anklesaria route to Gul Plaza and Tibet Chowk.

Advisory for Karachi Residents

Residents are urged to plan their routes in advance to avoid delays and congestion during the event. Traffic authorities have ensured that these diversions are carefully designed to minimize inconvenience and allow for smooth travel across the city.

By adhering to the outlined guidance, commuters can enjoy a hassle-free journey while observing this significant occasion with respect and ease.
