The City Traffic Police Lahore have finalized an extensive traffic management plan to ensure smooth movement during the Pakistan Super League Season 11 match between Islamabad United and Hyderabad Kings. The match is scheduled to take place on Friday at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi announced that around 600 traffic wardens will be deployed across key routes and surrounding areas to manage traffic flow and assist cricket fans.
Strict Traffic Monitoring and Enforcement
Authorities have emphasized strict enforcement of traffic laws during the event. Illegal parking will not be tolerated, and immediate action will be taken against violators. To support enforcement:
- 11 forklifts will be deployed to remove wrongly parked vehicles
- 3 breakdown vehicles will remain on standby throughout the match
These measures aim to prevent congestion and ensure smooth access to the stadium.
Designated Parking Plan for Spectators
The CTO has issued a detailed parking plan based on entry routes from different parts of Lahore:
- Visitors coming from Defence areas will be directed to CBD parking via Firdous Market and Center Point
- Those traveling through Ferozepur Road can turn from Kalma Chowk and park near Government College Gulberg via National Park
- Citizens from Defence and Cantt areas can use Liberty Parking via Hussain Chowk or Sherpao Bridge through Main Boulevard Gulberg
- Visitors from Mughalpura and Garhi Shahu will be guided to park near Sunfort Hotel Liberty parking via Main Boulevard Gulberg
Roads to Remain Open
In a relief for commuters, authorities confirmed that no major roads will be permanently closed during the match. Key arteries such as:
- Mall Road
- Jail Road
- Canal Road
- Ferozepur Road
- Main Boulevard Gulberg
Will remain operational to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow across the city.
Real-Time Traffic Updates for Public
To further facilitate commuters, real-time traffic updates will be shared through the Rasta App and Rasta FM 88.6, enabling citizens to plan their routes efficiently.
