Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to embark on a new chapter of growth and connectivity with the introduction of additional domestic and international routes starting January 2025. This strategic expansion underscores PIA’s commitment to improving its services, operational efficiency, and global presence.

New Routes to Enhance Connectivity

PIA’s upcoming flight schedule includes several new routes that promise to provide greater convenience for travelers:

  • Sialkot to Bahrain: Weekly flights commencing January 20, 2025.
  • Lahore to Kuwait: Weekly flights starting January 25, 2025.
  • Lahore to Dammam: Twice-weekly flights from January 22, 2025.
  • Faisalabad to Jeddah: Weekly flights beginning January 20, 2025.
  • Peshawar to Karachi: Weekly flights launching on January 25, 2025.
  • Sialkot to Doha: Weekly flights starting January 21, 2025.

These routes are designed to strengthen PIA’s network and meet the growing demand for both domestic and international travel.

Fleet Expansion and Operational Enhancements

To support these new operations, PIA is reintegrating grounded aircraft into active service. The airline’s acting CEO, Khurram Mushtaq, has emphasized the goal of increasing the operational fleet from the current 19 aircraft to 24 in the coming months. Efforts are underway to reactivate Boeing 777s, Airbus 320s, and ATR aircraft to bolster capacity.

PIA’s ultimate target is to fully operationalize its fleet of 34 aircraft by the end of 2025, marking a significant milestone in its revival strategy.

Commitment to Employee Welfare

In addition to enhancing its fleet and routes, PIA has announced a 25% salary increase for its employees. This move reflects the airline’s dedication to staff welfare as part of its comprehensive strategy to revitalize operations and improve overall service quality.

A Bright Future for PIA

PIA’s new initiatives signify a promising phase in its journey to reclaim its status as a leading airline in the region. By focusing on expanding its network, optimizing fleet utilization, and improving employee welfare, the airline is laying the groundwork for sustained growth and increased customer satisfaction.

Travelers can look forward to a more robust and reliable PIA in the months to come, as the airline continues its efforts to enhance connectivity and service excellence.
