Passport Services Expanded to NADRA Centers in Karachi for Greater Accessibility

In a significant step to improve accessibility and streamline service delivery, the government has introduced passport services at two major NADRA centers in Karachi. Citizens can now access passport-related services at the NADRA Mega Centre 5 Star Chowrangi and NADRA Mega Centre Siemens Chowrangi (SITE). This initiative aims to ease the burden on the central passport office and provide convenient alternatives for Karachi residents.

The decision came after Director General Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi’s visit to Karachi, during which discussions centered on integrating passport services within NADRA centers. The expansion of this initiative is set to roll out in 11 NADRA mega centers nationwide, including several in Karachi, as part of the government’s commitment to enhancing service delivery.

This move follows Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s visit to Karachi’s 24/7 Passport Office at Awami Markaz and the NADRA Defence Mega Centre. During his visit, Minister Naqvi reviewed the efficiency of the systems in place and received positive feedback from citizens. Applicants appreciated the timely processing of passports and ID cards, with the minister assuring the public of continued efforts to eliminate delays and ensure prompt delivery of documents.

In a parallel development, DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi announced that the backlog of passport applications had been successfully cleared. Since July 1, a record-breaking 3,376,510 passports have been printed, spanning normal, urgent, and fast-track categories. This achievement reflects the hard work of the passport production team and has enabled citizens to collect their passports directly from regional offices, following the completion of email and SMS notifications.

By integrating passport services into NADRA centers, the government is taking a vital step toward addressing public concerns and enhancing convenience for citizens. With this initiative, Karachi residents can now access essential services closer to home, marking a significant improvement in public service delivery.
