Pakistan Railways has officially launched its revised winter schedule for train operations across the country, effective from today. The updated timetable includes minor changes to the departure timings of 16 trains, removal of certain station stops for three services, and the restoration of four previously suspended trains, aiming to improve operational efficiency and passenger convenience.

According to an official statement, the adjustments were made following a comprehensive review of passenger demand, seasonal travel patterns, and train punctuality during the winter months.

Key Changes in Train Timings

Under the new schedule:

  • The Allama Iqbal Express will now depart from Sialkot at 7:30 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m.
  • The Narowal Passenger Train will leave at 7:25 a.m., revised from its previous 7:00 a.m. departure.
  • The Faiz Ahmed Faiz Passenger Train will now depart from Narowal at 5:00 a.m., half an hour earlier than before.
  • The Awam Express will leave Karachi at 8:00 a.m. instead of 7:30 a.m.
  • The Shalimar Express will now depart from Lahore at 7:10 a.m. instead of 7:30 a.m.

These timing changes are part of Pakistan Railways’ seasonal adjustments to optimize service flow during winter and improve coordination between major routes.

Restored and Updated Services

In addition to timing revisions, four previously suspended trains have been restored and reintegrated into the new timetable, a move expected to enhance connectivity and accommodate growing passenger traffic.

Moreover, nine trains that previously had temporary stops have now been granted permanent station stops. These include:
Rehman Baba Express, Karachi Express, Shalimar Express, Jaffar Express, Pak Business Express, Pakpattan Express, Tezgam, and Millat Express.

This change reflects the ministry’s continued efforts to ensure that passengers in smaller towns and suburban areas have consistent access to railway services.

Enhanced Efficiency and Passenger Convenience

The revised Pakistan Railways winter schedule 2025 underscores the department’s focus on improving punctuality, coverage, and service reliability. Officials noted that real-time monitoring of operations will continue to ensure that trains adhere to the new timetable efficiently.

Passengers are advised to check updated schedules through official Pakistan Railways channels, including its website, helpline, and mobile app, before planning their journeys.
