Chinese automotive brands OMODA & JAECOO have achieved a major international milestone after surpassing 100,000 vehicle sales in the United Kingdom in less than two years. The achievement highlights the rapid expansion of the brands outside China and comes as OMODA approaches its second anniversary in the UK.
OMODA entered the UK market on August 31, 2024, while JAECOO followed in January 2025. Despite their relatively short presence, the brands have expanded their combined UK dealer network to more than 144 locations nationwide and achieved a combined market share of almost 5.7%.
The milestone is particularly significant because the UK is one of Europe’s most competitive automotive markets, where established global manufacturers compete across virtually every major vehicle segment.
JAECOO 7 Leads UK Sales
The JAECOO 7 has emerged as the strongest-selling model for the group in the UK. Since its launch in February 2025, the SUV has recorded more than 53,000 registrations.
The JAECOO 7 has also regularly appeared among the UK’s top 10 best-selling cars, demonstrating strong consumer demand beyond the early-adopter segment typically associated with newer automotive brands.
Retail customers account for approximately 66% of JAECOO 7 registrations, while around 75% of buyers have selected the flagship SHS-P plug-in hybrid version. The figures underline the growing interest in electrified SUVs and plug-in hybrid technology among UK consumers.
OMODA 5 Records More Than 36,500 Sales
The OMODA 5, launched in the UK in August 2024, has also played a major role in the company’s growth. The crossover has recorded more than 36,500 sales, with retail customers representing approximately 71% of registrations.
OMODA has subsequently expanded the model’s powertrain choices to include hybrid and fully electric versions, giving customers greater flexibility as the UK market continues its transition toward electrified vehicles.
The broader product range now includes the OMODA 5, OMODA 7, OMODA 9, JAECOO 5, JAECOO 7 and JAECOO 8. Across these models, customers can choose from petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
Growing Global Presence
The UK sales milestone forms part of a wider international expansion strategy for OMODA & JAECOO. The brands are increasingly targeting markets where consumers are looking for technology-rich SUVs, modern styling and electrified powertrain options.
According to Gary Lan, Chief Executive of OMODA & JAECOO UK, the brands’ rapid growth has been supported by investment in people, retailer networks and the overall customer ownership experience.
Surpassing 100,000 sales in such a short period represents an important achievement for a relatively new entrant to the European market and demonstrates the increasing acceptance of Chinese automotive brands among international consumers.
OMODA & JAECOO Expanding Rapidly in Pakistan
The UK achievement is also significant for OMODA & JAECOO Pakistan, where the brands have been expanding rapidly since their local launch in 2025.
In Pakistan, the company has expanded its locally assembled portfolio while strengthening its nationwide dealership and customer network. The brands have also crossed the milestone of 10,000 locally assembled vehicles produced at the Nishat Group’s Faisalabad plant.
Models including the JAECOO J7 SHS-P and JAECOO J5 SHS-H have attracted attention from Pakistani consumers seeking a combination of modern design, advanced technology and electrified powertrains.
The addition of the OMODA 7 SHS-P to the locally assembled portfolio further expands the company’s offering in Pakistan and reflects the wider product strategy being implemented across international markets.
What the UK Milestone Means for Pakistan?
The rapid growth of OMODA & JAECOO in the UK could provide an important indication of the brands’ broader international ambitions. For Pakistan, their expanding global footprint may strengthen consumer awareness and confidence as the company continues developing local manufacturing, dealerships and after-sales operations.
Pakistan’s automotive market is also gradually seeing increased interest in hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles, creating opportunities for manufacturers with a diverse electrified portfolio.
With additional models, customer initiatives and further market expansion expected, OMODA & JAECOO are positioning themselves for another phase of growth in both Pakistan and international markets.
The achievement of 100,000 UK sales in less than two years represents more than a sales milestone. It demonstrates how quickly emerging Chinese automotive brands can establish themselves in mature global markets and signals the increasingly competitive role they are expected to play in the international automotive industry.
