BMW has shared a fresh preview of its upcoming electric performance sedan. The concept offers the clearest look yet at what the future electric BMW M3 could become. The company displayed the vehicle during the Le Mans event, highlighting its focus on combining electric power with performance driving.
The new concept follows BMW’s Neue Klasse design direction. It introduces sharper body lines, a wider stance, and a more aggressive front profile. Large wheel arches and sporty aerodynamic parts give the sedan a stronger road presence.
BMW also redesigned the front lighting setup. The yellow daytime running lights create a race inspired appearance. A large front splitter and rear diffuser improve airflow and add to the sporty character.
BMW Focuses On Performance And Advanced EV Technology
The concept keeps many design elements from the standard Neue Klasse sedan but adds several M specific upgrades. BMW included a sculpted hood with cooling vents and a more muscular body shape. The rear section features an integrated ducktail spoiler that enhances the sporty styling.

Inside the cabin, BMW continues its modern minimalist approach. The dashboard layout looks similar to the upcoming i3 sedan, but the steering wheel receives several additional controls. The wheel includes dedicated performance buttons and paddle controls designed for a more engaging driving experience.

BMW has not revealed official power figures yet. However, reports suggest the production version could use a quad motor setup with advanced torque vectoring technology. This system may help improve handling and cornering performance.

Upcoming Electric BMW M3
The upcoming electric BMW M3 will also use a large battery pack with more than 100 kWh capacity. BMW plans to install new cylindrical battery cells developed specifically for M performance vehicles. These upgrades could improve efficiency, driving range, and power delivery.

The company continues extensive testing before the final launch. Engineers are reportedly testing prototypes at the Nürburgring to fine tune handling and performance characteristics. BMW wants the electric M3 to deliver strong driver feedback while maintaining the excitement expected from an M car.

The electric BMW M3 represents BMW’s effort to bring its performance heritage into the EV era. The company aims to combine modern electric technology with the driving character that M models are known for.
The concept also previews several design features expected in the final production model. These include wider rear doors, sporty mirrors, and a more aggressive body kit. Some concept details may change before launch, but the overall styling direction appears close to production ready.

BMW plans to officially introduce the production electric performance sedan in 2027. The model will become one of the brand’s most important EV launches as competition in the electric sports sedan segment continues to grow.
