The directive was issued during the 51st meeting of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy Board, where officials confirmed that the 39-kilometer expressway is now 88.2% complete. The project is considered a major step toward improving traffic flow and connectivity in Karachi.

To enhance safety and sustainability, the PPP board approved the installation and long-term maintenance of solar-powered streetlights along a 4.5-kilometer elevated section near Sammo Goth. This initiative aims to:
