By The Government of Sindh has announced the launch of a new electric vehicle (EV) bus route in Karachi as part of its ongoing efforts to modernize the city’s public transport system and promote environmentally friendly mobility.
Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon confirmed that the new EV bus service will begin operations on March 17, 2026, connecting the northern areas of the city with the central business district.
Route from Gulshan-e-Maymar to Tower
According to the announcement, the electric bus service will operate from Gulshan-e-Maymar to Tower, a key commercial area in the city center. The route will also serve residents of nearby localities such as Surjani Town.
The new service is expected to benefit thousands of commuters daily, particularly those traveling to the city center for work, education, and other activities.
Officials say the route will significantly improve connectivity between northern residential areas and central Karachi, reducing travel difficulties for residents who often face limited public transport options.
Modern and Eco-Friendly Transport
