Hazro, Attock: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Sunday announced that electric buses will soon be launched in Tehsil Hazro, alongside the establishment of a new passport office to serve the local population. The announcement was made during a public gathering organized by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Tehsil Hazro President Naseer Khan Jadoon.
The event was attended by PPP district leaders, including District President Sardar Ashar Hayat Khan, Sardar Zulfiqar Hayat Khan, Malik Riyasat Sadrial, Sardar Muhammad Ali Khan, former Vice Chairman Malik Tahir Awan, Sajid Khan, Khurram Shahzad, and Malik Imdad Hussain.
Speaking at the gathering, Governor Haider highlighted the PPP’s legacy of supporting the poor and empowering its workers. He expressed gratitude for the prayers and trust of the people, noting that his appointment as Governor was not the outcome of political lobbying but the will of ordinary citizens.
“I have ensured since assuming office that no action of mine causes embarrassment to the people of my area,” he said. He further emphasized that the doors of the Governor House remain open to all citizens without discrimination.
The introduction of electric buses in Hazro is expected to significantly improve public transportation by offering an affordable, eco-friendly, and modern travel solution. This move aligns with Pakistan’s broader push toward sustainable transport and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Meanwhile, the new passport office will provide much-needed administrative relief to local residents, saving them the time and cost of traveling to distant cities for passport-related services. This step will particularly benefit students, workers, and families preparing for overseas employment or travel.
Governor Haider reaffirmed the PPP’s commitment to ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and relief for ordinary citizens. By prioritizing projects like electric buses and passport services, the party continues its efforts to strengthen ties with the grassroots and improve governance in smaller tehsils such as Hazro.
The announcement has been welcomed by residents, who see it as a step toward modern infrastructure and more efficient government services in their area.
