The UAE Fuel Price Committee has released the updated petrol and diesel prices that will take effect from October 1, 2025. The new rates show a modest increase compared to September, continuing the trend of gradual monthly adjustments that reflect changes in global oil markets.

New UAE Petrol and Diesel Prices for October 2025

  • Super 98 petrol: Dh2.77 per litre (up from Dh2.70 in September)
  • Special 95 petrol: Dh2.66 per litre (up from Dh2.58)
  • E-Plus 91 petrol: Dh2.58 per litre (up from Dh2.51)
  • Diesel: Dh2.71 per litre (up from Dh2.66)

This latest adjustment follows a slight increase in September after a dip in August, highlighting the monthly variability tied to international fuel price movements.

Why Fuel Price Changes Matter?

Economists point out that fuel price changes in the UAE can have a direct impact on:

  • Transportation costs for individuals and businesses
  • Logistics and supply chain expenses
  • Inflation trends, as fuel prices influence the cost of goods and services

Despite these fluctuations, the UAE continues to rank among the top 25 cheapest countries for fuel prices globally, offering significant relief compared to many developed economies.

Deregulation and Global Trends

Since the deregulation of petrol prices in 2015, the UAE has tied domestic fuel prices to international market trends. This approach ensures transparency while allowing residents to benefit when global oil prices drop. Conversely, upward adjustments are necessary when international markets tighten.

The country’s competitive fuel pricing also strengthens its position as an attractive hub for business, trade, and tourism, as affordable energy costs play a crucial role in sustaining economic growth.

From October 1, 2025, UAE residents will see a modest rise in petrol and diesel prices, with Super 98 now priced at Dh2.77 per litre. While the increases may influence transport and living costs, the UAE continues to maintain some of the most affordable fuel rates globally, balancing economic needs with consumer benefits.
