Sindh Government Enforces Parking Ban on Major Karachi Roads to Ease Traffic Congestion

In a decisive move to reduce traffic congestion in Karachi, the Sindh government has announced a strict parking ban on some of the city’s busiest roads. The directive comes straight from Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who has instructed traffic authorities to take firm action against violators and clear bottlenecks that have long plagued the city’s commuters.

The parking ban targets several key routes known for high traffic volume, particularly during peak hours. The affected areas include:

• II Chundrigar Road (from Shaheen Complex to Merewether Clock Tower)
• Muhammad Bin Qasim Road to Dr. Ziauddin Road, including the area near SM Law College

Strict Enforcement Measures in Place

Vehicles found illegally parked in these no-parking zones will be impounded, and the owners may face legal action. The Karachi Traffic Police have already begun enforcement operations and are also cracking down on unregistered vehicles and those using fancy or non-standard number plates.

In order to accommodate motorists, the Railway Ground has been designated as an alternative parking facility. Commuters are encouraged to use this space to avoid penalties and contribute to smoother traffic flow.
