Islamabad Traffic Police Cracks Down on Reckless Motorcyclists

In a decisive move to improve road discipline and ensure public safety, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has launched an extensive crackdown against one-wheelers, reckless riders, and motorcyclists operating without silencers. This initiative, spearheaded by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Zeeshan Haider, aims to address rising traffic violations and create a secure environment for all road users in the capital.

Massive Enforcement Action During Eid Festivities

During the recent Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, the ITP ramped up its enforcement efforts, penalizing over 1,700 motorcyclists for violations such as:
One-wheeling
Riding without silencers
Reckless and dangerous driving

More than 500 motorcycles were impounded across various police stations, highlighting the authorities’ strict stance on such infractions. Additionally, legal action was taken against 24 individuals involved in one-wheeling and nine heavy bikers riding without silencers.

This crackdown reflects the ITP’s zero-tolerance policy toward activities that endanger public safety and disrupt traffic flow.

Managing High Traffic Volume During Eid

Islamabad witnessed an influx of approximately 2.5 million vehicles during the Eid holidays, with nearly 75,000 vehicles traveling to Murree through the capital. Despite the high volume of traffic, the ITP ensured smooth vehicle movement, preventing major congestion and facilitating residents and tourists alike.

To maintain a family-friendly environment, the ITP also enforced regulations allowing only families to enter public parks, preventing disorderly behavior and ensuring a peaceful festive experience.

500 ITP Officers Deployed for Public Safety

The success of this operation was largely due to the 500+ ITP officers strategically positioned across key locations in the city. Their vigilance and swift action prevented major traffic incidents and contributed to a safer and more disciplined road environment during the celebrations.

CTO Syed Zeeshan Haider expressed gratitude to law-abiding citizens for their cooperation and emphasized that individuals engaging in reckless activities would continue to face strict legal consequences.

ITP’s Commitment to Road Safety Continues

This crackdown is part of the ITP’s ongoing efforts to enforce traffic laws and promote road safety. Previous initiatives have targeted:
Underage drivers
Motorcyclists without helmets
Vehicles with unauthorized number plates

The Islamabad Traffic Police urges the public to adhere to traffic rules to cultivate a culture of safety, responsibility, and discipline on the roads.

Through these proactive measures, the ITP reaffirms its commitment to protecting lives, reducing traffic violations, and making Islamabad’s roads safer for everyone.
