Cable Car & Chairlift Coming to Islamabad: A Game-Changer for Tourism

Islamabad is set to elevate its tourism appeal with an ambitious cable car and chairlift project connecting Daman-e-Koh to Saidpur. Spearheaded by Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, this initiative aims to enhance the city’s attractiveness while generating substantial revenue for economic growth.

A Vision for Sustainable Tourism Growth

During a high-level meeting attended by officials from Planning, Finance, and Environment departments, along with a Chinese delegation, Randhawa emphasized the project’s significance. He directed the preparation of PC-1, ensuring a detailed feasibility study and safety assessment for seamless execution.

The Chinese consultants praised the vision behind the project, offering technical support for its smooth implementation. This collaboration reflects Islamabad’s commitment to sustainable urban development and eco-friendly tourism.

Urban Expansion & Infrastructure Development

Beyond tourism, Randhawa is focusing on fast-tracking urban development, particularly in Sector E-12. He announced that plot handovers to rightful owners would begin after Eid-ul-Fitr, provided outstanding dues are cleared.

Additionally, he instructed authorities to complete infrastructure in Sector C-14, with strict orders for Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) to provide electricity before plot possession is granted. This ensures a transparent and efficient handover process.

Randhawa also ordered accelerated development in Sectors E-12, C-15, and C-16, resolving pending issues and expediting progress. Sector I-12’s cleanup and completion of delayed projects were also prioritized.

Islamabad: A Future Tourism & Real Estate Hub

By integrating modern attractions like the cable car and chairlift with rapid residential sector development, the CDA is positioning Islamabad as a top-tier tourist destination. These initiatives promise long-term economic benefits and a higher quality of life for residents.

With meticulous planning, stakeholder collaboration, and visionary leadership, Islamabad is on track to becoming a model city for tourism and urban growth.
