In a significant relief for travelers across Punjab, transport fares have been reduced by 30 to 70 rupees following the recent decline in petroleum prices. This announcement was made by Provincial Minister Azma Bukhari, who emphasized that the fare reduction is being implemented in celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

The fare cut is part of a broader initiative led by Maryam Nawaz, aimed at easing the financial burden on passengers. Azma Bukhari stressed that Punjab stands out as the only province offering refunds to passengers who have paid more than the newly revised fare. District teams have been dispatched across the region to monitor and ensure that transport operators are complying with the new fare structure.

Bukhari also took the opportunity to criticize opposition leaders for not taking similar measures to alleviate the pressure on travelers. She highlighted Maryam Nawaz’s commitment to enforcing fair pricing, ensuring that overcharging is strictly prevented.

This initiative reflects the government’s dedication to supporting the public during times of economic difficulty, providing much-needed financial relief to travelers in Punjab.
