Lahore Introduces Six New Traffic Management Sectors to Ease Congestion

To address Lahore’s growing traffic challenges, city authorities have established six new traffic management sectors strategically located across key areas. These new sectors aim to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and ensure smoother travel across high-traffic zones in the city.

Key Traffic Sectors and Coverage Areas

  1. Sadar Division
    Traffic management in the Sadar Division has been enhanced, with particular improvements near Jati Umra, ensuring seamless vehicle movement along major routes in the area.
  2. Nawan Kot Traffic Sector
    This sector covers several bustling areas, including:
    • Darbar Shah Fareed
    • Sabzazar Chowk
    • Raheem Store
    • Gold Market
    • Yateem Khana
    • Samanabad Chowk
      These efforts focus on minimizing congestion and improving road safety in these high-density locations.
  3. Shera Kot Traffic Sector
    Major intersections and hubs in this sector include:
    • Babu Sabu Chowk
    • Chhota Babu Sabu Chowk
    • Liaquat Chowk
    • Niazi Adda
    • City Adda
    • Abdullah Adda
      Enhanced traffic control measures are designed to reduce bottlenecks and ensure smoother vehicle movement.
  4. Niaz Baig Traffic Sector
    This sector focuses on improving traffic flow in critical areas such as:
    • Motorway Naka
    • Thokar Chowk
    • Katar Bund Road
    • Azmir Chowk
      The goal is to streamline traffic along the busy routes leading from Thokar Chowk to the Military Cut.
  5. Multan Road Traffic Sector
    Overseeing a heavily trafficked region, this sector covers:
    • Military Depot Cut
    • Hanjrwal
    • Multan Chungi
    • Mandi Stop
    • Awan Town
    • Kharrak Nala Chowk
    • Bijli Ghar Chowk
      This sector is designed to enhance the movement of vehicles along Multan Road and its surrounding areas.
  6. New Airport Traffic Sector
    With a focus on enhancing airport accessibility, this sector manages:
    • Chitral Lane Bahar Shah Road
    • Askari 10
    • Burki Road
    • Paragon City
    • DHA Phases 6, 7, and 8

Additional Traffic Management Sectors

  • Bedian Road Traffic Sector: Focuses on areas like Bhatha Chowk, PAF Golf Club, Bedian Road, Elite Center, and DHA Phase 6 to ensure smoother access to residential and commercial hubs.
  • Bhobatian Traffic Sector: Handles traffic at key points such as Bhobatian Chowk, Raiwind Road, Qazzalbash Chowk, Khayaban Chowk, and Dubai Chowk, along with intersections near LDA Society and Jubilee Town Society.

The establishment of these sectors is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance road safety, improve efficiency at key intersections, and address Lahore’s escalating traffic problems.
