Karachi authorities have issued a comprehensive traffic plan for the upcoming International Urdu Conference, set to take place over four days. The plan aims to ensure smooth operations for the highly anticipated event, which will bring together literary enthusiasts and prominent Urdu scholars.

Road Closures and Restrictions

To manage traffic flow effectively, several roads will be closed or restricted during the conference hours, which are from 4 PM to 9 PM daily. Key changes include:

• MR Kiyani Chowk to Governor’s House: This road will be closed to traffic.

• Masjid Ahl-e-Hadees to Sindh Assembly: Traffic will be restricted in this area.

• Commercial Vehicles: Heavy and commercial vehicles will not be permitted to enter critical locations such as Press Club Chowk and Shaheen Complex.

Parking Facilities

Designated parking spaces have been arranged to facilitate attendees. These include:

• Sir Syed Road

• Areas near the Sindh Assembly

Attendees are urged to use these parking spots and avoid parking on the main roads to prevent congestion.

Travel Advisory

Authorities are encouraging conference attendees and regular commuters to plan their trips in advance to minimize disruptions. Motorists should consider alternative routes and follow the directions of on-ground traffic personnel to navigate the affected areas smoothly.

The International Urdu Conference is a significant event for Karachi, celebrating the richness of Urdu literature and culture. The traffic plan reflects the city’s efforts to support a seamless experience for participants and the broader community.

Stay tuned for further updates on the event and traffic conditions.
