In a significant achievement for Pakistan’s local automotive industry, Hyundai Nishat has successfully exported locally assembled Santa Fe Hybrid units. An official from the company confirmed that a few units were exported on March 4, 2024, marking a major milestone in an industry traditionally reliant on imports. This development signals a new era of potential growth for Pakistan’s car manufacturing sector.

Modern Design with a Bold Presence

The Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid stands out with its brushed aluminum front grille, dual LED projection lamps, and air vents, creating a modern yet aggressive appeal. Side indicators, parking sensors, and reflectors add to the safety and functionality of the design. A silver lining running along the body, coupled with pronounced wheel arches, gives it a rugged yet stylish look.

At the rear, the LAVA LED lamps bring a retro touch, while the HTRAC Hybrid sticker highlights the SUV’s power split technology between the front and rear axles. The Santa Fe badging further enhances its premium appeal.

Advanced Technology and Safety Features

As a connected vehicle, the Santa Fe Hybrid is equipped with an impressive range of driver-assist and safety features, including:

  • Traction Control
  • Electronic Parking Brake
  • Blindspot Monitoring
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ADAS)
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring
  • 360-degree Camera
  • Head-Up Display (HUD)
  • Parking Assist
  • Six Airbags

Inside, the fully digital cluster panel offers a dynamic meter design, providing real-time vehicle information. Harman Kardon speakers, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto enhance the in-car entertainment experience.

Comfort and Spacious Interior

Step inside the Santa Fe Hybrid, and you are greeted with a carbon fiber black and silver interior, exuding a premium feel. The 2nd-row seats offer ample head and legroom, ensuring comfort on long drives. While 3rd-row access requires seat adjustments, the autoboot provides generous cargo space with two foldable seats for added flexibility.

Pilot seats come with 8-way power adjustments and lumbar and thigh support, making them ideal for extended journeys. Rear passengers enjoy additional armrests, USB charging ports, and side rests for added convenience.

Performance and Fuel Efficiency

Under the hood, the Santa Fe Hybrid boasts a 227 HP engine with 350 N-m of torque, delivering a smooth driving experience. Notably, the SUV handles exceptionally well with no understeer, oversteer, or body roll, ensuring stability and control.

With multiple driving modes (ECO, Sports, Smart) and terrain options for snow, mud, and sand, it adapts effortlessly to various road conditions.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the Santa Fe Hybrid offers:

  • 16 Km/L in city driving
  • 12.5 Km/L on highways at a top speed of 120 Km/H

Santa Fe vs. Toyota Fortuner: A Clear Winner?

Compared to its competitor, the Toyota Fortuner, the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid emerges as a superior choice. With its better fuel economy, modern features, and advanced technology, it provides an enhanced driving experience with a balance of power and efficiency.

With this successful export milestone, Hyundai Nishat is paving the way for Pakistan’s automotive industry to enter the global market, marking an exciting step forward in local vehicle production.
