Islamabad’s administration has expanded its M-Tag service network in response to a sharp rise in public turnout across the capital. According to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon, who shared an update on his official X account, more than 2,244 M-Tags were issued within the last 24 hours, highlighting a significant increase in demand for mandatory vehicle tagging.
To accommodate the growing number of applicants, the administration has increased the number of M-Tag facilitation points from seven to ten. Although the locations of the three newly established centers were not revealed, officials confirmed that the expansion aims to reduce pressure on existing points, shorten queues, and ensure smoother processing for residents.
With M-Tags now mandatory for all vehicles entering Islamabad, the city’s administration is encouraging citizens to complete the tagging process without delay. The M-Tag system is a crucial component of Islamabad’s enhanced traffic monitoring and security strategy, helping authorities manage vehicle flow more efficiently on major entry routes and toll plazas.
Deputy Commissioner Memon advised residents to visit facilitation centers after 6 p.m. to avoid peak-hour congestion. He reiterated that the administration is actively working on minimizing wait times and improving service delivery as the mandatory tagging campaign continues.
The expansion of the M-Tag network marks a major step toward a more organized, secure, and efficient traffic system in Islamabad. With more facilitation points becoming operational, commuters can expect quicker services and reduced bottlenecks, ensuring a smoother experience across the capital.
