Now, with the deadline of November 16, 2025, fast approaching, car owners are advised to ensure their vehicles meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emission standards.
After November 16, vehicles in the specified model year range that have not passed the emission test may face fines, legal action, or restrictions on road use. The enforcement phase is expected to be strict as the government moves toward cleaner air goals in Lahore.
To avoid penalties, vehicle owners are urged to visit their nearest EPA-certified testing center as soon as possible. If there are doubts regarding the condition of the vehicle’s engine, catalytic converter, or fuel system, it is recommended to tune or repair the vehicle before taking the test. A properly maintained vehicle has a much higher chance of clearing emission inspection on the first attempt.
