In a major step toward digital transformation, the Punjab government, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, has launched a unified digital fare payment system for public transportation — the T-Cash Card. The initiative aims to eliminate traditional tokens and cash transactions, making travel more efficient, secure, and convenient for millions of commuters across the province.

The T-Cash Card can be easily obtained through the official e-Transit portal: https://etransit.punjab.gov.pk/auth/login, where citizens can apply online and later collect their physical card from any Metro station in Lahore after the standard processing period. This innovation is part of the government’s broader effort to modernize urban mobility and integrate all mass transit systems into a single, user-friendly payment ecosystem.

Key Features of the T-Cash Card

The T-Cash Card is powered by the MasterCard network, functioning not only as a travel card but also as a debit card for everyday purchases. Commuters can use it to pay fares on:

  • Metro Bus
  • Orange Line Train
  • Electro Bus Services
  • Other mass transit networks in Punjab

Users can conveniently recharge their T-Cash Card online through the e-Transit portal. In addition, passengers without a T-Cash Card can still pay fares using alternative digital methods such as debit or credit cards, mobile wallet applications, and NFC-enabled smartphones.

Student Discounts and Inclusion

To encourage affordability and student mobility, the Punjab government has also introduced a Student T-Cash Card. This special version offers exclusive fare discounts for students across the province, making public transport more accessible and budget-friendly for young commuters.

A Step Toward a Cashless Future

The launch of the Punjab T-Cash Card marks a significant milestone in the province’s journey toward digital governance and cashless mobility. It enhances commuter convenience, ensures faster boarding times, and supports financial inclusion by integrating travel and everyday payments into one secure platform.
