The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has announced the establishment of four new traffic sectors to improve road management and reduce congestion across the district. According to an official spokesperson, the newly designated sectors are located at Saidpur, Range Road, Chakri Road, and Jhelum Road.

Each new sector has been equipped with a traffic in-charge and official vehicles to strengthen field operations, ensuring better supervision and rapid response in case of emergencies or bottlenecks.

Improved Traffic Flow and Monitoring

Speaking about the initiative, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam emphasized that the new traffic sectors will play a key role in ensuring smoother traffic flow and providing greater convenience to commuters. He further explained that traffic monitoring and arrangements at key intersections and highways will also be improved under the new system.

“The department’s top priority is to maintain smooth traffic flow on highways and provide maximum convenience to the public,” CTO Aslam said, adding that the traffic police are committed to modernizing Rawalpindi’s traffic management.

A Step Towards a Model Traffic System

Rawalpindi has seen growing traffic pressure in recent years due to rapid urban expansion and rising vehicle numbers. The creation of new traffic sectors reflects CTP’s commitment to building a model traffic system for the province, with a focus on efficiency, discipline, and commuter safety.

By decentralizing management through sector-specific in-charges and vehicles, the CTP aims to reduce congestion hotspots and respond more effectively to traffic-related issues.

The establishment of the CTP Rawalpindi new traffic sectors at four key locations marks a major step towards easing congestion and modernizing the city’s road management. If successfully implemented, the initiative could serve as a blueprint for traffic improvement strategies in other urban centers across Punjab.
