Karachi Traffic Plan for 12th Rabi ul Awal 2025 Processions Announced

The Karachi Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic plan for the 12th Rabi ul Awal processions scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 2025. Citizens are advised to follow diversions, use alternative routes, and plan their journeys in advance to avoid inconvenience. The traffic management strategy aims to ensure smooth flow and safety during the Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH) celebrations.

Procession Routes and Timings

As in previous years, 12th Rabi ul Awal will be marked with multiple processions across the city. Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) will personally supervise routes in their respective districts.

  • The first procession will start at 2:30 pm from Memon Masjid and end at Aram Bagh Masjid.
  • The central procession, led by Maulana Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, will begin at 3:00 pm from Memon Masjid and conclude at Nishtar Park.

Road Closures and Diversions

The Karachi traffic plan outlines major closures and diversions to accommodate the processions:

  • MA Jinnah Road will remain closed to general traffic. Only vehicles with official stickers will be allowed.
  • Nazimabad traffic: diverted via Lasbela Chowk → Nishtar Road → Garden.
  • From Liaquatabad: Teen Hatti → Lasbela → Central Jail.
  • From Shahrah-e-Faisal: use Shahrah-e-Quaideen → Kashmir Road.
  • From Jamshed Road: Bahadur Yar Jang Road → Soldier Bazaar.
  • From Garden Zoo: diverted at Uncle Sarya → Gul Plaza / Coast Guard (Holy Family Hospital).
  • From Lucky Star: Saddar Dawakhana → PPP Chowrangi.
  • Toward Burns Road: use Abdullah Haroon Road → MR Kiyani Chowk.
  • Court Road will be closed; use Arts Council → Pakistan Chowk.
  • From Shahrah-e-Liaquat: traffic to be diverted at Aram Bagh signal → Pakistan Chowk.
  • From Hassan Square: use Kashmir Road → Shahrah-e-Quaideen → Jail Flyover → Teen Hatti → Nishtar Road.
  • No entry zones: Guru Mandir → Numaish will remain closed.

Heavy Vehicles Ban

To ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow, the Karachi Traffic Police have announced a complete ban on heavy and commercial vehicles across the city on 12th Rabi ul Awal.

Authorities have urged citizens to:

  • Use alternative routes.
  • Follow traffic police instructions.
