Heavy rainfall has been reported across multiple locations in the Central Region, leading to slippery road conditions and reduced visibility. According to Syed Imran Ahmad, spokesperson for the Motorway Police, continuous rain is being experienced on the M-3 Motorway between Faizpur and Mureedwala. Meanwhile, on the Lahore–Sialkot Motorway, light drizzle has been reported from Kala Shah Kaku to Kamonki, while steady rainfall is occurring along the stretch from Kamonki to Sialkot via Sambrial.

Motorway Police Urge Caution

In light of these weather conditions, the Motorway Police have urged motorists to drive with extreme caution. Officers are deployed across affected routes to assist commuters, ensure road safety, and provide guidance.

Syed Imran Ahmad emphasized the following precautionary measures for drivers traveling in rainy weather:

  • Reduce Speed: Driving at lower speeds minimizes the risk of skidding and improves vehicle control.
  • Maintain Safe Distance: Keep a larger gap from vehicles ahead to allow ample braking time on wet surfaces.
  • Check Vehicle Systems: Ensure wipers, headlights, and brakes are functioning properly before starting a journey.
  • Avoid Unnecessary Travel: If possible, postpone travel plans during heavy downpours to stay safe.

Safety First for Travelers

Authorities are reminding all road users to prioritize safety and plan their trips carefully during ongoing rainfall. Motorists are encouraged to perform a full inspection of their vehicles to prevent breakdowns or accidents in challenging weather conditions.

For real-time information, assistance, or to report emergencies, travelers can contact the Motorway Police Helpline at 130.

With unpredictable weather conditions across the Central Region, the advisory serves as a timely reminder that cautious driving can save lives during the monsoon season.
