Punjab Launches T-Card for Unified Metrobus and Orange Line Travel

The Punjab government has officially launched the T-Card, a unified and cashless payment system for Metrobus and Orange Line services. Managed by the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA), the initiative is part of the government’s e-Transit program, designed to digitize public services and make commuting more efficient across the province.

One Card, Seamless Travel

With the T-Card, passengers can now travel on both the Metrobus and Orange Line train using a single smart payment solution. This eliminates the need for separate tokens or RFID cards, making the process faster and more convenient. By reducing the dependency on ticket counters, the new system is expected to cut down long queues and waiting times for daily commuters.

How to Get Your T-Card?

Obtaining the T-Card is simple:

  • Online Application: Through the official e-Transit Punjab website
  • Mobile App: Apply via the dedicated app for a quick and paperless process
  • Helpline: Call 1762 to speak with a representative for guidance

According to the Transport Department, the token system will be phased out gradually, and awareness campaigns will be launched to help commuters adapt to the new payment method smoothly.

A Step Toward a Smarter Transit System

Officials highlight that the T-Card is more than just a convenience—it’s a key step toward a fully integrated public transport system in Punjab. By encouraging the shift to cashless payments, the government aims to streamline fare collection, reduce operational bottlenecks, and improve passenger flow.

Commuters are encouraged to adopt the Punjab T-Card early to avoid service disruptions and enjoy a faster, more efficient travel experience on the province’s mass transit networks.
