Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape is expanding rapidly, and the latest development is set to make a big splash — the Riddara RD6 Electric Pickup Truck has been spotted on the roads of Karachi, indicating that its highly anticipated launch is just around the corner.

Originally unveiled in May this year, the RD6 is being introduced to Pakistan by Capital Smart Motors (CSM), a company looking to make EVs more accessible to Pakistani consumers. According to industry sources, the official launch is likely to take place between August and September 2025, making the RD6 the country’s first fully electric pickup truck.

A New Era for Pakistan’s Pickup Truck Market

The RD6 is manufactured by Radar Auto, a brand under the Geely Auto Group — one of China’s largest automotive giants. Although CSM has yet to confirm the localized specs, the global RD6 model comes packed with impressive features and performance capabilities.

Globally, the RD6 is powered by a 315 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing a solid 595 Nm of torque and achieving a top speed of 190 km/h. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, putting it among the quickest electric pickups in its class.

One of its biggest highlights is its 86 kWh ternary lithium battery, which provides an estimated range of 455 kilometers on a single charge — a significant leap for pickup trucks in Pakistan’s evolving EV market. For those concerned about charging times, the RD6 supports fast DC charging that can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in about 32 minutes, making it practical for daily use as well as longer trips.

Smart Features for Modern Drivers

The RD6’s interior promises a premium feel with artificial leather seats, a 10.2-inch digital screen, and multiple drive modes, including sport and off-road. These features are designed to cater to diverse driving needs — from urban commutes to adventure travel.

While official local pricing and specific features for the Pakistani variant are yet to be announced, the spotting of the RD6 on local roads suggests that testing is in its final stages and an official launch is imminent.

Why the RD6 Matters for Pakistan’s EV Future?

The arrival of the Riddara RD6 Electric Pickup is a significant milestone for Pakistan’s electric vehicle market. With growing interest in sustainable transport, the RD6 could help change perceptions about the viability of EVs for heavier-duty applications like pickup trucks — a popular vehicle type in Pakistan’s rural and commercial sectors.

The local launch of this all-electric pickup is expected to boost consumer confidence, encourage investment in EV infrastructure, and support the government’s broader ambitions to reduce carbon emissions and dependency on fossil fuels.

As Pakistan moves towards a cleaner automotive future, the RD6 may very well lead the charge — quite literally. Stay tuned for more updates as Capital Smart Motors gears up for what could be a game-changing launch for Pakistan’s pickup and EV markets alike.
