As the excitement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 continues to grip the nation, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a comprehensive traffic management plan to accommodate the movement of PSL teams while ensuring public safety and minimal disruption.
Key Traffic Diversions and Timings
On Saturday, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, extraordinary security measures will be in place across major points on Srinagar Highway. Travelers should expect slow traffic and potential delays during this time window due to the movement of team convoys.
Motorcyclists are particularly advised to use adjacent service roads instead of the main highway for smoother travel.
Alternate Routes for Key Sectors
To reduce congestion, ITP has issued the following recommended alternate routes:
- For Blue Area, Sector F-6, and F-7: Use the H-8 underpass.
- To access the Red Zone and Serena Hotel: Take Margalla Road, Jinnah Avenue, Ayub Chowk, and NADRA Chowk.
- For commuters heading to Bari Imam: Use NADRA Chowk as the primary route.
- Travelers going to Sectors I and H: Use Rawalpindi-Peshawar Road and IJP Road via service roads.
Closures and Restrictions
- Murree Road, from Serena Hotel to Faizabad via Rawal Dam, will remain closed during team movements.
- Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Islamabad during the PSL convoy transfers.
Assistance and Real-Time Updates
To assist the public, ITP personnel will be deployed across strategic points. Commuters are encouraged to plan their routes in advance and allow for an additional 20-minute travel buffer.
