In a major step towards digital transformation and road safety, the Punjab Police has launched a new e-license system, enabling drivers across the province to carry and verify their driving licenses digitally on their smartphones. This initiative, spearheaded by Traffic Police Punjab, is designed to improve compliance with traffic regulations and reduce the number of unlicensed drivers on the roads.

The e-license system allows drivers to access a valid digital copy of their driving license, which is now officially recognized by law enforcement agencies as legitimate proof of licensing. Whether you’re driving a motorcycle, car, or heavy vehicle, this new system ensures that your license can be verified instantly, improving both convenience and transparency.

How to Download Your Digital Driving License

Citizens can easily obtain their digital driving license by visiting the official portal at dlims.punjab.gov.pk. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the “License Information” section.
  2. Click on the “E-License” option.
  3. Enter your CNIC number and date of birth.
  4. Click “Download” to receive a PDF copy of your license.

Applicants are required to pay a PKR 150 driving test fee, while the licensing fee depends on the validity period chosen:

  • 1-year license: PKR 1,980
  • 2-year license: PKR 3,330
  • 3-year license: PKR 4,680
  • 4-year license: PKR 6,030
  • 5-year license: PKR 7,380

Strengthening Compliance and Safety

This initiative is part of a broader effort by Punjab’s traffic authorities to modernize public services and enhance road safety. Drivers found without a valid license may face legal consequences, including fines and penalties.

By simplifying the process of obtaining and verifying licenses, the Punjab Police aims to make roads safer, encourage responsible driving, and support the government’s vision for a more digital and efficient Pakistan.
