Atlas Honda, Pakistan’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, is set to revolutionize the local two-wheeler industry with the launch of its first electric bike by June 2025. As the dominant player in Pakistan’s motorcycle market, controlling 85% of total sales, the company aims to drive a shift towards eco-friendly transportation.

Electric Bikes in Pakistan – Overcoming Challenges

Despite government incentives, electric motorcycles have struggled to gain popularity in Pakistan, making up less than 1% of total sales in 2024. The key obstacles include:

  • High upfront costs compared to petrol bikes
  • Limited charging infrastructure
  • Consumer skepticism about EV performance and reliability

However, Atlas Honda’s strong market presence, trusted brand reputation, and extensive manufacturing network could help accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in the country.

Atlas Honda’s EV Strategy & Market Impact

With an annual production capacity of 1.3 million motorcycles and over 95% of components sourced locally, Atlas Honda is well-equipped to tailor its electric bikes to Pakistan’s road conditions and consumer preferences. The company’s dedicated R&D team will ensure that the upcoming EV model is optimized for performance, durability, and affordability.

Expected Key Features of Atlas Honda’s First Electric Bike

  • Battery: 48-volt
  • Range: Up to 65 km per charge
  • Charging Time: 6-7 hours (portable charger included)
  • Price: Slightly higher than traditional petrol motorcycles

By focusing on local manufacturing, Atlas Honda aims to offer better quality components and reliable performance, making its electric bike a strong alternative to existing petrol models.

Production & Future Outlook

Atlas Honda plans to initially produce 25,000 electric bikes, with an annual output of 8,000 units in subsequent years. This measured rollout reflects the company’s long-term commitment to sustainable transportation while allowing time for market adaptation and infrastructure development.

Can Atlas Honda Spark an EV Revolution in Pakistan?

While India and China have witnessed rapid growth in electric two-wheelers due to affordability and government subsidies, Pakistan’s transition has been slower. However, Atlas Honda’s entry into the EV market could be a game-changer.

With a strong supply chain, trusted brand name, and commitment to innovation, Atlas Honda is well-positioned to lead Pakistan’s electric mobility revolution. If successful, this launch could pave the way for a greener, more sustainable future for the country’s transportation sector.

Stay tuned for more updates as Atlas Honda’s electric bike launch approaches!
