The Islamabad Police have closed key entry points to the Red Zone due to an ongoing protest by lawyers, causing widespread disruptions. Major routes, including Serena Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Express Chowk, and the Kashmir Highway leading to Pak Secretariat, have been blocked. These closures have significantly impacted daily commuters, especially those traveling between Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as Metro bus services have also been suspended.

The closures have caused severe traffic jams, making it difficult for citizens to reach government offices, schools, and other essential destinations. Margalla Road is the only available entry route into the Red Zone, but it is now facing heavy traffic, compounding the challenges for commuters.

Traffic Advisory for Citizens

The Islamabad Traffic Police have advised residents to plan their journeys carefully and avoid traveling to the affected areas unless necessary. For real-time updates, commuters are encouraged to stay connected through the official traffic helpline at 1915 or follow the traffic police’s social media channels. These updates provide information on road closures and alternative routes, which can help mitigate delays.

Daily Life Disrupted

The ongoing protest has left many office workers, students, and travelers stranded, creating widespread inconvenience. The lack of a clear timeline for reopening the roads has added to the uncertainty, leaving residents frustrated. The authorities are yet to announce any resolution to the protest or a plan to restore normal traffic flow.

Recommendations for Residents

Citizens are urged to avoid unnecessary travel towards the Red Zone and explore alternative routes. Patience and caution are key as the situation remains tense. For those affected, staying informed and using available resources can help navigate these disruptions.

The authorities will likely provide further updates as the situation develops, but for now, residents should brace themselves for continued traffic challenges.
