The Punjab Traffic Police has reinstated the mandatory 42-day waiting period for motorcyclists applying for a permanent driving license. This decision comes after the conclusion of a temporary relief period, which ended on December 15, allowing applicants to bypass the waiting period and apply immediately after obtaining a learner permit.

During the relief period, there was a notable surge in license applications, with over 841,000 licenses issued in November. This included learner permits, new licenses, renewals, and international driving licenses.
