Yamaha Motor Pakistan Officially Discontinue Motorcycle Manufacturing in Pakistan

Yamaha Motor Pakistan (Private) Limited has announced that it will discontinue the manufacturing of motorcycles in the country, citing a change in its business policy.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, the company expressed gratitude to its customers for their loyalty and support over the years.

“Due to a change in our business policy, we would like to inform you that we will discontinue manufacturing of motorcycles. We sincerely appreciate your long-standing support and loyalty,” the statement read.

Yamaha entered the Pakistani market with high expectations, launching models that quickly gained popularity among urban commuters and young riders. However, industry challenges, rising production costs, and shifting market dynamics may have played a role in this strategic move.

While the company has not revealed detailed future plans, its announcement raises questions about whether Yamaha will continue operations in Pakistan in other forms, such as imports, spare parts distribution, or after-sales services.

The decision marks a significant development in Pakistan’s two-wheeler industry, where Japanese manufacturers have long dominated. Customers and dealers are now awaiting clarity on warranty services, spare parts availability, and Yamaha’s overall direction in the local market.

Yamaha’s discontinuation of local motorcycle production could also reshape competition, potentially opening more space for rivals like Honda, Suzuki, and emerging Chinese brands to strengthen their presence.
