Islamabad Traffic Police Issued 577,836 Tickets from January to September

From January 1 to September 13, 2024, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) took extensive action against traffic violations, issuing a staggering 577,836 traffic tickets. The fines collected from these tickets surpassed Rs 48 million. The violations ranged from minor infractions to more severe breaches of traffic laws.

In addition to ticketing, the ITP registered 951 FIRs for major traffic offenses. This move reflects their commitment to tackling serious violations, including reckless driving, driving without a license, and other offenses that pose significant risks to public safety.

Rawalpindi Traffic Police Launched Targeted Road Safety Campaign

Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi Traffic Police launched a focused road safety campaign between August 25 and September 12, 2024. This initiative aimed to improve compliance with traffic regulations and reduce accidents. During this short campaign, the police issued 3,803 traffic tickets and collected over Rs 4.1 million in fines.

Moreover, the campaign resulted in the registration of 35 FIRs for serious traffic offenses, further demonstrating the authorities’ determination to crack down on dangerous driving behavior.

A Broader Push for Road Safety

The efforts of the Islamabad and Rawalpindi Traffic Police underscore a broader push towards stricter traffic management and improved road safety across both cities. By enforcing traffic laws more rigorously, authorities hope to reduce the frequency of accidents and ensure safer roads for everyone.

These initiatives also serve as a clear message to drivers: adherence to traffic regulations is essential for maintaining order and safety on the roads. The ongoing enforcement efforts are expected to continue throughout 2024, reinforcing the commitment to road safety and the well-being of the public.
