The TDCP 9th Thal Desert Rally 2024 is scheduled to rev up from November 7 to November 10 across the challenging terrains of Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, and Layyah in South Punjab. This annual event, organized by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), promises an exhilarating experience for drivers, racers, and spectators alike, celebrating the spirit of off-road racing and the vibrant culture of the region.

This year’s rally will feature several categories, making it accessible to a variety of participants, including Prepared, Stock, Women, Veteran, Dirt Bike, and Quad Bike. Here’s a rundown of what to expect each day of the rally:

Day 1: November 7, 2024 – Registration and Preparations

The action kicks off with registration, vehicle tagging, technical inspections, and medical checkups for all participants at Changa Manga Tella, Kot Addu. Later in the day, a driver navigators’ conference and a draw event will be held at DHA Multan, setting the stage for the competition and laying out the rally course.

Day 2: November 8, 2024 – Qualifying Rounds and Cultural Festivities

On the second day, participants will enter qualifying rounds based on the initial draws, with all events taking place at Changa Manga Tella, Kot Addu. In addition to the races, spectators will be treated to traditional jhomar dances, tent pegging, and a lively kabaddi match—a celebration of the local culture and a prelude to the main races.

Day 3: November 9, 2024 – Stock Category Races and Cultural Night

The excitement continues in Chubara, Layyah, with the Stock Category Race taking center stage. Following the race, there will be traditional events like tent pegging, kabaddi, and a cultural night featuring fireworks. It’s a fantastic opportunity for visitors to experience the rich heritage and warm hospitality of South Punjab.

Day 4: November 10, 2024 – Main Event and Prize Distribution

The final day will showcase the main races, including the Prepared and Women Categories, Dirt Bike, and Quad Bike competitions. As the dust settles, the rally will close with an exciting cultural night and prize distribution ceremony, celebrating the achievements of all participants and the spirit of adventure that defines the Thal Desert Rally.
