The Sukkur-Hyderabad-Karachi Motorway (M-6)—a key infrastructure project aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s national connectivity—will be completed at all costs, said Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb during a recent session in the National Assembly. He underscored the strategic importance of the M-6 as a cornerstone for economic development, regional trade, and logistics efficiency in Pakistan.
The motorway, part of the broader Karachi-to-Peshawar corridor, is expected to transform transportation and commerce across the country. It will connect major urban centers, reduce travel time, improve freight movement, and foster job creation along the route.
Government Allocates Rs. 10 Billion for M-6 in Upcoming PSDP
To accelerate the project, Rs. 10 billion has been proposed for the M-6 in the upcoming Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). The funding strategy will include a mix of:
- PSDP allocations
- Foreign loans
- Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)
Minister of State Chaudhry Armaghan Subhani confirmed that leading global financial institutions such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are showing interest in co-financing the project. This international backing reflects strong investor confidence in Pakistan’s infrastructure vision.

Once completed, the Sukkur-Hyderabad-Karachi Motorway will significantly:
