Srinagar Highway Closure in Islamabad: Alternative Routes & Travel Advisory

Authorities in Islamabad have announced the closure of Srinagar Highway from Zero Point to Serena Hotel in both directions until further notice. Commuters in the capital city are advised to stay informed and plan their routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Alternative Routes Suggested by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP)

To ensure smooth traffic flow, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued the following alternative routes for motorists:

  • Traffic from Faizabad should use Jinnah Avenue as an alternative.
  • Travelers from Club Road heading toward Aabpara and the Red Zone should take the Faizabad Loop instead.

With these diversions in place, travelers should anticipate potential delays and plan an extra 20 minutes for their journeys.

Traffic Assistance and Updates

To facilitate the public, ITP personnel will be stationed at key points along the affected routes. Motorists are encouraged to follow official updates and contact traffic authorities for assistance if needed.

How to Stay Updated?

For real-time traffic updates and assistance:

  • Follow ITP’s official social media accounts.
  • Tune in to local news stations for traffic advisories.
  • Use navigation apps like Google Maps to check real-time congestion levels.

Travelers in Islamabad should exercise patience, use alternative routes, and stay alert for further updates regarding the reopening of Srinagar Highway. Authorities will provide further instructions as the situation develops.
