In a significant gesture of friendship, the Pakistani government has officially renamed the F-8 and F-9 Interchange in Islamabad after Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. This move symbolizes the strong diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties between Pakistan and Turkey.

A Tribute to Pak-Turkey Relations

The interchange, strategically located at the junction of Jinnah Avenue and Agha Shahi Avenue, serves as a key connection point in Islamabad. Its renaming reflects Pakistan’s appreciation for Turkey’s leadership and unwavering support on international platforms.

A special ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s House to mark the occasion. It was attended by President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, among other dignitaries. President Erdoğan unveiled a commemorative plaque, officially announcing the new name of the interchange. The moment was a testament to the deep-rooted bond between the two nations.

A Landmark of Friendship and Development

The interchange was completed in record time, demonstrating Pakistan’s commitment to infrastructure development. Beyond being a transportation hub, it now stands as a symbol of unity and goodwill between Pakistan and Turkey.

Historically, both countries have maintained strong diplomatic relations, collaborating in various sectors, including trade, defense, and culture. The renaming of this interchange further strengthens their friendship and reinforces their commitment to mutual cooperation.

A Lasting Symbol in Islamabad

With its new identity, the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Interchange is expected to become a well-known landmark in the capital. It will serve as a reminder of the brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkey, ensuring that the legacy of this friendship continues to thrive.
