The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has announced that traffic across the city is flowing smoothly despite the ongoing Pakistan vs South Africa Test match being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

According to the latest Rawalpindi traffic update issued at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, all major roads remain open and operational. The CTP clarified that only Stadium Road—from Double Road to 9th Avenue—has been temporarily closed for all types of traffic to ensure the safe movement of players, officials, and security personnel during the match.

Traffic wardens have been deployed at key intersections throughout the city to assist commuters and manage diversion routes effectively. The CTP has urged the public to follow traffic diversion signs, cooperate with on-duty officers, and use alternative routes to avoid congestion near the stadium area.

A CTP spokesperson confirmed that the department is actively monitoring traffic flow in real time through its control room. Citizens can stay updated through CTP FM Radio 88.6 and the official social media handles of Rawalpindi Traffic Police, where live traffic alerts and route updates are being shared regularly.

The spokesperson added that emergency lanes have been designated to ensure the uninterrupted movement of ambulances and essential vehicles. Routine maintenance work across other city roads continues without disruption.

The Rawalpindi traffic police emphasized their commitment to providing safe, smooth, and efficient traffic management during major public events. With increased coordination and public cooperation, the city’s road network remains largely unaffected by the heavy footfall around the cricket stadium.

As the Pakistan vs South Africa Test match continues, residents are encouraged to plan their travel ahead and tune in to CTP FM 88.6 for continuous Rawalpindi traffic updates and route advisories throughout the event.
