By The Punjab Environment Protection and Climate Change Department has announced new emission testing fees for vehicles, effective from November 10, as part of its efforts to curb rising smog and air pollution across the province. The move comes amid worsening air quality in major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Multan, where smog levels have frequently crossed hazardous limits.
According to the latest notification, the fee structure is based on engine displacement (cc):

The department has emphasized that all payments must be made via the Punjab e-Pay system, either through the mobile app or online banking. Once the payment is completed, motorists will receive a confirmation message on their registered mobile number.
Requirements for the Emission Test
Motorists appearing for the test must:
- Bring a valid CNIC
- Ensure the vehicle is in running condition
- Present the payment confirmation message (SMS or receipt)
The emission testing will be carried out at designated government-authorized inspection centers across the province.
